I specialize in helping individuals, couples, and families navigate through life's challenges to improve their overall well-being.
I have experience with and am here to support you with challenges related to communication, anxiety, trauma, depression, or other aspect of your emotional health. Currently I offer online teletherapy sessions.
I was first led to therapy as a client myself, seeking help for my own childhood wounds, difficult life experiences, and overwhelm. I experienced clarity and insight by being deeply heard and having my feelings and experiences validated. My experience led me to years of continued self-discovery through, reading, workshops, yoga training & practice, and eventually graduate school. Holding space for others as a therapist is a great honor. As a fellow traveler, I show up in therapy as you do, with my own personal experiences and my humanity. I integrate this with my clinical training to create and hold a safe space for you to explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences. Together, we work towards creating positive change. My goal is to assist you in gaining insight and clarity, to increase your skillset in navigating emotions, so you live more fully in your own authenticity, inner joy, and peace.
For me, it is a privilege to walk along side another as they take the vulnerable and courageous steps towards healing and self-discovery.
Therapeutic Approach & Modalities
I am trained as a family systems therapist, which means my overarching approach to therapy is to consider the many interacting components (relationships, community, culture, etc) contributing to the problem’s origin as well as it’s resolution. This includes a culturally informed lens, where I embrace all aspects of who you are including your age, spirituality, sexuality, gender identity, class, race, and ability.
My theoretical approach is founded on Humanistic and Experiential therapy. I believe you are the expert on your life and you have, within you, the strength and knowing to work through what life presents. It is my job to support you in nurturing this belief within yourself. I integrate Solution-Focused, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, and a trauma informed lens in my work. When therapeutically appropriate somatic techniques will be used in sessions to address the mind body connection. This can included guided meditation, yoga, drawing or other artwork.
I am currently in training for Somatic EMDR therapy.
